a clean heart

this Tuesday, one of my very good friends in Cambodia will go into an open heart surgery to repair a hole in His heart. Although he knew he had some sort of heart problem for years, he has felt well usually and was only made aware of the size of the hole and the urgency of the treatment a few weeks ago when he made a trip to Singapore's heart center.
as an unofficial assistant to a local pastor, Satha used to faithfully pick me up Sabbath mornings, take me to a church and translate for me.
he had taught math at the Cambodian Adventist School for many years and went out of the country with the goal of further education, but
when he heard that ADRA really needed young strong Christian staff like Him to show Christ's love to communities and be a strong influence for good with staff, he felt God speaking to him and he came..
as public relations, church relations and emergency response coordinator, Satha has made a difference in many people's lives over the last few years. he welcomes visitors, staff and community members as new members of God's family - his family.
many have been the times at the office that Satha, Mark and i have grabbed each other and said, 'let's pray. this is a situation that needs God's special intervention.' Satha is a man of prayer and strong faith. he is ready to face the operating room and pain that lies ahead. He knows God is with him.
i pray for Satha and that God will guide the doctor's work in repairing a wornout hard working heart in Satha. 'Create in me a clean heart oh God and renew a right spirit within me.' i pray that God keeps Satha and his family in tune with the peace of His heart. isn't this what we all need?
