abiding

in my room is a tray of biodegradable planters. except that nothing has ever been planted in them. i found that my gardening tools did not include anything to break up the rock hard clumps of dirt in my flower beds, so i abandoned this, uh, a long time ago. last week i finally drove down to the one plant store i have seen and it was no longer a plant store....

my Christmas tree is still up. the plus side is that it is a conversation starter and kids think it is cool. i do have a valid explanation, that the tree was up in the office before Christmas so i only was able to enjoy it after Christmas when we drug it up to my apartment on the third floor with all the decorations on it. my job was to pick up the decorations that fell in its wake... having the packings of the Christmas stuff downstairs where staff put it all up has caused some challengs as i search for the boxes that things came in. today as i worked in the libarary with volunteers, i happened upon the box for the Christmas music box that has been sitting on my cluttered desk as i searched in vain for the box. as i was packing it up i noticed a sticker that i think most people do not have on their Christmas boxes:

well since its inspected and is "transportation secure" it shouldn't break then, right?!

four year old Keenan played hide and go seek tonight with his Mom, Dad and i. he was a good sport about counting, seeking and hiding. he wasn't so worried about winning, but was eager to jump out and say, "here i am!" lets be joyful together!

this morning i was reading about abiding in Christ. we are planted to grow and are surrounded by all the things to help us grow in Him. and as we abide/live in Him, He makes us secure and confident in His soon return where we will stand before Him unashamed and joyful....
