driving throught the streets of suburban Phnom Penh where i live, you can happen upon goats and a few sheep. although there are fewer empty lots for grazing now then when i arrived with skyscrappers taking over, or even then one year ago, they still find enough food. but more impressive to me than seeing the goats and cars share the paved roads, are the goat herders on motorbikes.
well, isn't that the way that you would do it if that was your job? looks like a good idea to me! i am all for new ideas - any way to make work easier. well, as long as it is legal, above board, and ethical... working in a different culture there are many different ideas than i have about what that all means... tomorrow i am sharing the story of Jacob and Esau. from the culture you grew up in, which of the two brothers would be the hero of the story? can you imagine all the conclusions that people can draw out of that story? that gives me thoughts to ponder as i try to share my friend Jesus and what hope having a friendship with Him has to offer us...
Jesus is our shepard, the herder of us His sheep. Jesus talks a lot about goats and sheep. goats have their own ideas of where to go and what to do, while sheep although they often go the wrong way have the idea ingrained to follow their leader. hmmm, can that tie into the Jacob and Esau story to speak through cultural barriers tomorrow?
