catching up

making time - most of the time my thoughts are way ahead of me, unless my words are ahead of my thoughts (which is not a good thing). i usually have plans in my head of all that must get done and find it hard to enjoy what i am doing. that is the way it has been for me lately, so many things that must get done before i can do fun things like blogging (but not reading, that always fits into the cracks in time that appear, like lunch time or midnight...) one thing that God is helping me make time for every day is time with Him. time to praise Him, time to listen to His Spirit's leading. time to forget about things that i think must be done, or that i think were done wrong and to love. i am coming to learn that "love covers a multitude of sins," isn't just about forgiving other people's sins, but about leading me away from the temptation to sin in criticism. Making a choice to love instead of nag/complain/criticize. and that doesn't just make time free from more regret and pain, it makes life enjoyable.
annual leave - talking about life being enjoyable, i had a most wonderful time in the US with my sisters, brother and their families. although we missed two nieces and our parents, we were able to chat online with them all the way in Mozambique. the time was rushed and restful, a very enjoyed annual leave. worries about paperwork finally worked out in the end.
reports - i am trusting that these work out in the end. projects ended and we have reports to write. most are written when i was gone by others and i am still struggling to tie things up. i have been waiting on everything - including posting - until i am done with these, but decided to post tonight anyways...
dogs - i have been too sad to talk about or post, but i had a very sad day just over a week ago where my dog who was a puppy earlier this year died of some sort of poisoning. she is missed and her sister is on loan from another house to help guard our office/my home until a new dog is found. for the second time in the last couple of years i woke to a gun shot at night related to thieves stealing a neighbor's motorbike (no one has been hurt thankfully). so i am very grateful for guardian angels and their guard dog partners.comprehensives - i have feared taking comprehensives, but i have begun studying for comprehensive exams to complete a masters degree. it seems easier than i thought it would be so i hope to be done with that long road soon.
siem reap - after taking the long road north, i am in Siem Reap, Cambodia this week near the famous Angkor Wat temples. we are working on gathering ideas for new proposals. we will be doing this in 6 provinces for the next three months. i am re-inspired each time we do this by the needs and why i do what i do. and there are good friends to enjoy time together with here!
books - talking about good friends, i stocked up on good books during my annual leave and have been enjoying them. i just finished Victory of the Warrior King and i recommend it - even for those above its recommended ages of 10-14!
camera - going on 10 years, my old camera was stolen on the recent trip to Italy. since i don't like to post without picture, i remedied that with a new camera.
solid - new, the bed in the hotel i am at is rock solid. i remember reading about a girl who prepared to travel as a missionary by sleeping under her bed instead of on top of it. well, she had the right idea.

sleep - is the right idea for right now.....
