The Comforter

In Cambodia we have been enjoying 'winter' weather. No need for an air conditioner or even a fan! This first started with a tropical storm and lots of flooding. In the region there is still more flooding and i hear that when you fly into land in Phnom Penh it still looks like a big lake for a lot of the area. In the city where there is lots of building going on, the regulations are not necessarily clear or enforced and a lot of small and big lakes as well as marshy land are rapidly filled in resulting in 'flooded areas. On a sunny day following a lot of rain here's a pretty tame picture, we had passed cars stopped in the 'lake roads' already.
Our Beginners Sabbath School has been studying Noah and the flood. Although the latest floods have only inconvenienced me, they made live pretty miserable for many, lots of colds and sickness, houses knocked over and even some dying. I worried about a family who live on the corner of our street who were sleeping on there bed/house which top was barely above the rising water, which fortunately stopped rising about then. While i enjoy the the cool nights snuggled in my comforter, i think of those with no comforter.

At Sabbath School, Pey Pey and friends are not just thankful for Noah's safety in the big flood have the chance to celebrate her milestone. Here the children look about ready to 'dig in.'
Facing floods and rainy days in life, we can dig into God's word and find the Comforter. The one that is there no matter how cold, or hot or flooded it gets...
